muf were commissioned as artists on the design team for the renovation of a brownfield site to create a business park and publicly accessible landscape.  The site is on the north edge of Liverpool in the residential suburb of Fazakerley.  The area is typified by post war housing, with a significant number of empty units and areas of open mown grass between the developments.  muf initiated a spring term project with both local primary schools, one at each end of the site, to reveal the non human-species with whom they shared the landscape and its underlying value as a site for intellectual and actual adventures.  The research process was structured as an investigation of the family unit of the Blue Tit through the use of a nest-box with live webcam in each school and culminated with a promenade performance on site by aerial acrobats with the children in the role of Blue Tits.  The research process informed the detail design for a landscape with a meaningful identity in an area characterized by undifferentiated open green space.
