On-the-ground research with young people created an inventory of these left over and in between spaces that were value as social or play spaces, such as underpasses and pedestrian bridges.

Proposals were made for each site to enhance their potential as amenities, not only as routes but also as destinations with multiple uses. One built outcome of this study was the social MUGA, a space for both playing sport and social gathering.
